What happens during a seizure exactly?

Hi! I have a daughter who has Epilepsy and the doctors always ask me if it runs in the family. I always say no but I remembered once when I was a kid something strange happened to me. I guess I was around 9 or 10 and I was wrestling my brother. He punched me in stomach and I was caught off guard. It wasn't that hard but it did surprise me. I went into the bathroom and then visualized what had happened just a few seconds earlier (wrestling with my brother and getting punched in the stomach). I also remember that my head hurt.It was then that I realized I was on the bathroom floor. I presume I hit my head on the tub and that is why my head hurt so much. While I was on the floor I visualized what had happened a few seconds earlier. Has this ever happened to anyone? Has anyone ever remembered anything while having a seizure? Did I faint or do you think I had a seizure of some kind?

well, that kinda reminds me of what happened to me when i was younger. i got hit in the nose by a soft ball, and about 30 min later, i felt funny and then fainted. today, at the waffle house, i had a seizure, yet actually COULD remember some of what went on. i felt extremely 'fuzzy', and somewhat recall my head tilting, and my eyes kept closing and opening. yet, i could'nt control it. so, i would suppose yes-ppl can remember things sometimes having a szr. not all szr make you totally unconscious. considering you invisioned the situation prior to fainting, i'd think it'd be a szr. did it feel kinda de ja vuish? if so, i experience those a lot. pain can also bring on szrs. it might not always mean that you have epilepsy, from what i've been told. but, just keep an eye on yourself. you say that you hit your head. if you have any more vision type episodes, while feeling weird again, i'd talk to a doc. epilepsy is usually szrs that happen without any known cause frequently. i have epilepsy. but, reguardless, i do think you had a szr. and like i said, pain and a number of things can trigger them. hope this helps. WOW! Thanks for the info. I thought it was weird but never thought anything of it until they diagnosed my daughter with having E and kept asking me if it runs in the family. I will mention this to her neuro when I see her. Ever since that day, nothing has ever happened like that and I seem to be fine but I will see my doc and mention it to her too. Thanks again and take care! :)
