Volunteering at a summer camp

Sun, 04/10/2016 - 07:20
Hi everyone I’m Lucy, 21 years old and have been diagnosed with epilepsy a couple of months ago and have been on AED since then. The meds work well. No more loss of conciousness only some minor jerking from time to time, which doesn’t bother me at all. Since summer is coming up I thought about volunteering at a summer camp I’ve participated in a couple of years ago. I’m aware of the potential lack of sleep, which is one of my triggers. I’ve an appointment with my neuro in two weeks and going to ask him whether he thinks it’s a good idea or not. I also have to inform the organisators, which are good friends of mine. I haven’t seen them since I’ve been diagnosed though. I’ve been wondering if some of you have been volunteering at a camp. I’m interested in your experiences. Did you get some special prepartions done, because of your epilepsy? What do I really have to pay attention to, except the lack of sleep? How did you manage to get enough sleep? Thanks! Lucy PS. I couldn't find a thread to this topic, that's why I started a new one. If one already exists feel free to forward me to it!
