Seizures when sleeping

Fri, 01/09/2015 - 11:11

Hi, i wanted to see if this is happening to many other people with E.  My son, 23, has generalized intractable epilepsy.  He is on 3 meds and not controlled.  we've tried most drugs and he also has a vns.  We're not really sure what is working and what's not.  the one thing that seems to be bad, is he has seizures while sleeping in the morning between 8 and 10am.  docs said this is when your brain is coming out of sleep and starting to wake up and the seizure occurs.  Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if you found a trigger or anything that helped stop it?   meds aren't working - my next test is to set alarm and have him wake up everyday  at 8am, see if that stops it from happening.

also going to see if he will use the cpap - maybe it has something to do w/ sleep apena.
