Seizures, Jobs, and Disability.

Hi, all! :)

I am finally at that point in life, where you've researched all you can, have turned crosseyed from staring at google for so long, and decided to finally ask people who may or may not be dealing with/dealt with, the same/similar issues that I'm dealing with. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a challenging time getting disability for their epilepsy.

I started having Frontal Lobe Epilepsy when I was 17 and am currently 30. Three years ago, I started having 1 seizure every 4 months like clockwork. My doctor at that time had me on Depakote, which was...okay, but he then nearly doubled my dosage as a way to stop them completely, causing my body to reject it and so on. I ended up in a hospital for a few days as they got it out of my system. Ever since then, my seizures have increased significantly to the point where my (new) neurologist and specialist told me that I couldn't return to work until I could go 6 months without having one. I'm a pretty sweet gal, but that doesn't pay bills and after being unemployed for 2 years, funds are diminishing. I've applied for disability a couple of times now and it keeps getting rejected. It's the most frustrating thing. I'm now on: Lamictal, Keppra, Onfee, Zoloft, and Zonegran for my seizures.

So my main questions, I guess are:
1. Is this typical and I just need to keep applying?
2. Are there any types of jobs I could do, ie. from home?
-I've tried thinking of a couple and most just end up with crafting and Etsy. lol
3. Are there any possible tricks to getting disability applications sent through and approved?
-My specialist has now sent a formal letter as well...
4. If I cannot get some form of financial assistance, I will need to do something similar to section 8 housing. If anyone has any information on that, as well, I'd be monumentally grateful. To the point of making you waffles for breakfast. lol.

Any thoughts, comments, or opinons are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)
