Does anyone know how long a PET scan takes and how helpful this test is in regards to making a determination as to whether or not a person is a candidate for surgery?

Hi, I had a PET Scan three years ago. It's a very specific imaging test used to see if there's any cancer in the body and in this case to see where your epilepsy is originating from. It takes about 2 hours. Depending on your age, gender, and overall health issues and type of epilepsy and if your neurologist and neurosurgeon can locate the central area it will determine your surgery. It takes many tests.
