More seizures with heavy breathing

Sat, 07/28/2007 - 20:47
I don't know how else to say it in the title of the post... My daughter (almost 5 yrs) had had many seizures today (absence type seizures). She was in the pool a lot and tired which always makes it worse but I could see one right after the other which I have not been seeing since she's been on Zonegran. I still see some, but not so many. She was blowing through a swim "noodle" like blowing up a balloon, over and over to make bubbles in the pool. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Would breathing like this cause seizures? Thanks. s

heavy breathing or hyperventilating can cause seizures. i found that out during my EEG's because they made me do that so they can see if it registers on their little graph thing.

Thanks! This helped me get a google search and I did find it. I will call our neuro tomorrow. I wonder why they didn't have her do that in her EEG.
