A little about me

Fri, 03/24/2006 - 18:10
Hi I started with seizers back in 1999 after a car accident due to a elderly man ran a stop sign. I hit my head on the windsheild post and that is about were it started. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and I kept blacking out and was paralized from the neck down . I had a dog at my house that I used as a Paws Dog for my clients as I was a Hospice Nurse and would take him to visit my clients on my days off. He would bark at me about 15 mins before I would black out then I would find him laying beside me quiet as could be. I told the doctors about this and they finnally ran a C-Scan on me and that was a real thrill ..I found out I was allergic to the dye and ended up in ICU on that one . Then they tried to do a MRI with contrast and also found out that I was allergic to the dye to that also . So to make a long story short they have had a hard time figuring out what is going on with me . It took me going to Mass Eye and Ear in Boston and them doing some testing and MRI of my brain and also some test of my eyes do to I also suffer from Optic nerve issues to see that I have swollen vetricals all throu my brain and also have a cyst on my left temple . They still haven't told me what kind of seizers I have. But they do have them under control to some extend . They have me on Topomax at this point and it seems to be working I do still suffer from break throu seizers . The long and the short of it is that I have been told I suffer from (Migrains with out pain )to (it is all in my head ) all because I have allergies to the dye that they are using for the tests ...

Migraines without pain? Is there really such a thing? Wow. That all must be so frustrating for you! I can't understand why they don't work under the idea it's at least a brain trauma related seizure? I mean I'm not a doctor but it would seem to make sense, right? I hope that somebody is able to give you some answers, sooner rather than later. Take care and welcome.
