Just "not feeling right"...any ideas?

I don't know what these are, so I am hoping maybe someone else does. I have been diagnosed with psuedo-seizures, which involve physical movements. Haven't had one since I left the hospital (two months ago), and am working w/ a shrink. Good deal. However, yesterday I had an experience that has happened before where suddenly I don't feel quite right, and I can't focus on my work. I wanted to get out of my office and do my work in case it was psychological and made worse by my focusing on it, so I went about my business in other parts of the building. I was talking to people about issues and I was having the hardest time keeping straight what we were talking about. I was getting confused and saying some silly things that I should know better about (work related, but totally off-base from the reality of situation). Really struggled to keep on working during that time. Lasted about an hour, maybe only a half hour actually. As I've said, these have happened before, but normally accompany a type of "click" in my brain where suddenly I can't listen to someone talking to me and I just need to be left alone for a minute or two, but when I get back to normal I still have a hard time functioning for a while after. Any ideas?

I'm in the same situation. I have odd voice changes, from my adult age to that of a child in addition to odd movements. I have the same concentration issues too. Although my doctor also calls them pseudo seizures, I have also been given the term Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures. Maybe looking that up would help you. Regardless though we must remember: We are in control of these just as much as we are in control of our grand-mal seizures - not at all!! Jennifer K.

I have to say Jennifer that I respectfully disagree. I may not have known that I was in control before the diagnosis, but I have been able to control them for the past two months. That is not to say that I do not still have that feeling...the one that would always come before the psychogenic seizures, I just choose to respond to it differently. I have found that if I close my eyes and relax for a bit I can keep them from happening. I have also found that coming to terms with all of this and working with a psychologist have helped tremendously. Good luck with everything... I hope you find relief. Sam
