July 18 update on my life

Tue, 07/18/2006 - 04:52
Hi everybody. Guess my last update was in June...sorry about that. I've been extremely busy of late. My students are driving me crazy. My friend, who is normally the lead teacher, has been absent so I took over our class by myself. It was a lot of stress that I'm surprised that I wasn't hit with a seizure/aura because of it. I've been having seizure auras a lot last week and had one seizure itself in the classroom. I can't remember the seizure, but my friend told me what happened. I don't remember how I got to my desk 'coz last I remembered was standing in front of the classroom. I didn't crash to the floor or anything which is quite a blessing in itself. Now that my friend has been absent from work...my stress level has maximized. It was a lot easier to deal with the class with two of us in there. Can u imagine dealing with 14 kids under the age of 5 by yourself? I tell u I was screaming for a vacation. But, then again, my afternoon class which only consists of 7 was a lot worse. Two of my male students were trying to overturn the table that they were sitting in. It was like they were on an extreme sugar high. I told the mother of one of my male students to not please give her child candies for snack. You should have seen my shock when my student showed a handful of candies in his hand for snack. What was the parent thinking? yeah, he may have cookies or sandwich to go with it, but which one do you think the child will more likely eat? The candies, of course. I made him put it away in his bag, but he didn't do that. He put it away in his shirt pocket. Can u imagine? I was never so displeased with a parent in my life.
