Independence with atonic drop seizures

Mon, 08/28/2006 - 02:35
Although I had partial seizures (with an aura) since I was about 3 years old, I did not start having atonic drop seizures until I was in my middle 40's. Not too long after I started having them, I opted out of the company when they offered early retirement. And because I earned a halfway decent salary, I have some money tucked away and I get somewhat decent disability benefits. For almost 10 years, everything was fine. Because of where I lived, the bus stop was only a short distance from our house. As a result, I'd take the bus to the mall, Barnes and Noble, etc. and make a day of it. Never once did I have a problem even though I was alone. Unfortunately, the family member that I was living with retired about 2 years ago. She has felt the need to supervise me ever since. I am ready to walk out and leave everything behind me. I had an uncle who also had seizures and, when the family pressure became too much, he left and didn't surface for about 2 years. I am ready to do the same thing. As a result, I have been doing some research about which cities have the lowest cost of living and a decent transportation system. Have you done this? Would you provide me with the name of the city that you live in? Have you been happy with your choice? If you went back to the other city, did you still have problems with your relatives? Please help me.
