Hello, I´m new here. Well, 1 month ago my GF started with Tegretol, last days (Thrusday, Friday and Saturday night) she had many seizures, and today about 10 is it normal? :( She´s taking an antibiotic because she has some infection in the tooth, the doctor said there won´t be any problem taking antibiotic and Tegretol is it true? Well she discovered she has Epilepsy just about 2 months ago, I don´t know how to react in the seizures, what should I do with your mouth/tongue, just nothing? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, What type of seizures does your GF have? Grand Mal? She might have to try different meds. If she has a grand mal seizure you want to be sure she is in a comfortable place or a safe place and keep her on her side. You don't need to touch the tongue. Make sure her breathing is ok. Its a very scary thing but it can be safe. Good Luck and you and she will find LOTS of information on here.

Glad you stopped by and hope you have had a chance to browse around. Here are a few links to info that can help you get your footing on what is a seizure and what to do.

what is a seizure

Some people are more likely to have seizures when they are sick or have infections, and some antibiotics may affect seizures. There are also a few antibiotics that can interact with or affect the level of Tegretol. Whenever changes rare noted, calling the doctor to go over what to do in each situation is important. When in doubt about what's okay and what is not, and if seizures are happening more frequently, call the hospital or covering doctor or go to emergency room where they can check it out directly.
