Hearing Loss or Complete/Partially drop out of sound????

Thu, 02/08/2007 - 01:17
Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone here with E has ever experienced this in relation to their seizures? The last month or so I have had something new happening. All sound will either drop out completely or get extremely low so that I cannot understand what is being said. It can happen for only a brief 30 seconds or for several mintues. There is no ear ringing prior or anything like that just sound suddenly cuts off and then comes back quite suddenly. The first few times this happened I was alone watching tv and I thought it was my surround sound speakers acting up. However, the third time I was with my financee and I quickly realized I could not hear him either. Today, I was grocery shopping and it happened again only this time I felt a small ear popping and became a bit lightheaded. I have lost sound before however this was occupied by a black-out period and always started with an intense ear ringing, loss of vision, strange electrical heat smell, lightheadness, shakyness, loss of awareness, dream like state, disorientation, confusion, with sleepiness and a small headache after an episode. However, this is just a complete loss of sound without all the other symptoms listed above, Weird??
