Epilologist in uk?

Wed, 10/07/2015 - 12:45

Hi everyone

So the tests the neurologist ordered (MRI & EEG) both came back fine but I'm still no further with finding an answer to my episodes. I've now been discharged with no follow up appointment, which is incredibly frustrating being left in limbo without help/advice. The neurologist was strongly leaning towards stress causing a one off event, I was also fine with that except that I've had another one and still don't know for sure what I'm dealing with.

Luckily my GP is looking into alternative causes but I'd like to be as sure as possible, either way, so I'm looking at going private to see a epilologist. Can anyone recommend one in the uk? I've also read that some ones specialise in how seizures affect women so that would be even better!

Thanks

I don't think you will find a neurologist here since I tried to get one in the "find a doctor" area. What they have on this site is for the states. Here all it takes to diagnose someone with epilepsy is 2 seizures. There is a 24/7 help line people can call and get answers to their questions an they may have information that can help you find a specialist in epilepsy.    The number is 1-800-332-1000I did find a site in the UK like this one which can be brought up  https://www.epilepsy.org.uk/I hope this helpsJoe
