There are several posts about Keppra over on the EFA website. I've had the bruising and I'm a little tireder than I was while on Nuerontin. However I like the control.

BAD TASTE FROM KEPPRA ? Has anyone who has taken Keppra experienced a bad taste in their mouth ? My son just began taking Keppra this month (November, 2005) in addition to continuing drugs he was previously on -Clorazapate and Lamictal. He was just taken off Imiprimene, and weaned off Topamax at the same time the Keppra was started. Two days after beginning Keppra, he was diagnosed with a sinus infection, and was on Augmentin for ten days. He has been off the Augmentin for about 8 days now. His complaints of a bad taste began within a day of starting on Keppra, and he still complains of a bad taste even though the Augmentin should be totally out of his system . By the way, the docs who prescribed Keppra and ordered the discontinuation of Imipremene and Topamax may certainly know what they are doing, but it would have been nice if they had done more than just hand us a script for Keppra and tell us that "it sometimes causes people to become combative, and if that happens, call us imediately". Fortunately, my son has not had this type of side effect !

Hi Patricia, I use keppra since 3 years ago, and I don't have that problem. May be is for the mixing of aumengtin and keppra with other antiepileptic drugs.
