Can Lamictal cause tremor in 6 year old?

Fri, 12/03/2004 - 11:34

Hi...my 6-year old daughter has had post-Encephalitis seizures for about 2 years now.  We have been through several (almost all) medications, usually 3 at a time.  The newest we are trying is Lamictal...she has been on it since August.  She is also on Trileptal and Depakote.  We have been weening the Depakote for a couple of weeks now because she is having "the surgery" later this month.

She has been having this tremor for several weeks now ... seems to be getting worse, but her seizures have been getting worse also...and we are not sure if it is seizure related or if it is due to the Lamictal.  Has anyone else had this issue with Lamictal?  We have been discussing with her neurologist whether we should discontinue Lamictal and start another medication, possible Felbamate, but the side effects of this drug sound pretty serious.

Just wondering is anyone else has experienced tremor with Lamictal?
