Anyone with an infant with seizures? 7 week old daughter

Sat, 07/03/2004 - 06:28
was diagnosed with seizures in the NICU. She's been home for 2 weeks now and is on phenebarbitol and dilantin. The phen is making her SO LETHARGIC. It breaks my heart. Is anyone else going through this? I'm frustrated b/c the first available MRI isn't until September and I was told by the doctor to have it in late July. This is so frustrating. Her last EEG looked much better but still some abnormal activity according to the doctor. All the tests have come back normal (metabolic screens, etc...). The MRI she had done while in the NICU looked like the brain of a preemie- which she was (born at 33 weeks, 3 days). We anxiously await her next MRI- 2 months will last forever before we get there. I would love to talk with other parents with experience with infant seizures. Thank you.
