'seizure like activity' on 24 hour EEG? flare up of episodes.

Mon, 05/25/2015 - 14:34

in december, i had a 24 hour inpatient EEG that showed 'seizure like activity' during my episodes. but the doctor didnt want to diagnose me with epilepsy. but he put me on tegretol which seemed to help in addition to already my treatment of topomax. since may 9th this month, i have had a flare up of episodes on a daily basis. my tegretol level was low so they fixed that and now its at a therapeutic level but im still having episodes daily. the doctor refuses to see me until my appointment in june. my episodes consist of an aura, eyelid fluttering, eyes rolling back, my left eye deviates to the upper side, i breathe heavy and yell out and have chewing motions i cannot control. my episodes usually last around 10 minutes. i usually do not black out and am aware of the episode, feeling sensations and pressure and tingling i cannot explain. my body tenses up. ive had episodes lasting as long as 30 minutes, being an episode right after another during that 30 mintues. ive been to the e.r. and there was nothing they could do, they just directed me back to my neurologist, which im waiting to see in june. my neurologist nurse said i had to wait for my appointment, that it could just be anxiety. i talked with a psychiatrist, who said it sounds all neurological, if anyone has any comments or suggestions, it would be much appreciated.
