I was 59 when I had my first seizure and felt like you did also. I bit my tongue etc. That was 4 moths ago and I am reacting well to meds. I am back to work full time and do sometimes experience a little dyslexia and sleepiness, but for the most part I feel pretty good. Got my license back too. Hope this helps,

I am 33 and I had my first sezure at 22.I was getting up to go to a wedding and the next thing I know I was in a Ambulance.The cops thought I was on P.c.P. I beat them up and knocked one out with a pan I was holding before I had the sezure.I became violent when I woke up is what my Mom and sis told me.I was in the hospital for 5 days they thought I had a tumor but the Mri said otherwise.I finally had a EEG and found out that I have Left-Temprol Lobe Epilepsy.That has explained alot of my strange feelings in my life but after that first sezure I didnt have another one for 4 years then boom.I had a sezure while on I-75 and had a terrible wreck I hit a Power Pole doing 120Mph I floored the gas when it hit and going down a hill hit the only pole around.I was lucky I broke ribs,arm, and lost my left leg but the seat belt saved my life the Doctors told me if I had been consious I would have died the same reason Drunk drivers live and the others die.My Sezures got worse from then on and I tried every drug but still had them.Then I went to Depakote and I always carry Valium with me if I feel that religious feeling I have or aura.I have been sezure free for 3 years but if I forget one Pill I am in the Floor fast.I also have that Vagus Nerve stimulator in my chest but i dont know if it works I have never had the guts to stop my meds and never will.I thank the lord every day that I did not kill a family or a person during that wreck I could not live with myself if that would have happned.I Drive and going back to college late in life but better late than never.The Valium will stop a sezure but I cant tell if its nerves or a sezure cauz that the first thing I think about.
