Untitled Poem

Tue, 04/15/2008 - 16:56

This poem just came to me - for the life of me I can't think of a title, though. I was going to leave the poem at the first stanza, but it seemed like it needed a conclusion. So there it be!

E cuts my life like tin snips on metal
Leaving a sharp, dangerous edge
It cuts through sanity and ability
It cuts through memories and time
It cuts through friendships,
Through connections, through relationships
And it leaves a jagged wound
From which I bleed invisibly

To ignore the pain is to deny it
To deny it is to deny me.
I can only clean the unseen blood,
Patch the jagged wound,
Form a new sanity, create a new time
Reshape new memories and new “I cans”
And then trust the rest will resurrect themselves
All around the brand new me.

there's some good imagery there.
