Quilting

Tue, 01/08/2008 - 18:25

I finally found this place!  Some people have asked what my quilts look like so I'll post some pictures.  Quilting is so much cheaper than therapy and keeps me sane.  I haven't finished this one yet as I'm working a design for the dark blue squares.  I plan to get this one done this year.

The other star quilt won a blue ribbon and 2nd place in the "Viewer's Choice" awards.

Years ago when my mom was

Years ago when my mom was taking me back and forth to the hospital, she used to sew her quilts - cross stitch to be exact. What she did was actually the patch quilts, there was one for my brother and one for my sister then when it came time to do one for me it was actually in strips so that was a bit easier LOL!

Anyway. I helped her with the cross stitch though as it was a relaxing thing so I can relate to you on that. My brother's was a really nice gold Grechian Urn style, I'm not sure if you're familiar with that. If you do a search on www.google.com for the design pattern you can find it fairly easily. The design for my sister was a Teacup Rose with a variant red and that was actually fun seeing the different shades of red come into play while it was being made. When we did mine, it was Autumn Leaves and it turned out with variant brown leaves and acorns. At any rate, I don't know if they're available anymore but Mom purchased all of these from a catalog called Herrchenner's(sp?).  And I believe they are online now too.

I look forward to seeing your creations!
