Brain On Fire

Wed, 02/17/2010 - 05:25
I just recently started experiencing seizures at the age of 25. I will turn 27 March 3rd. I know my grandpa has turret's syndrome and epilepsy as well. I don't know if being genetically predisposed to it had anything to do with the onset or not. However, before I knew what was wrong with me (the seizures started where I would be conscious but lose part of my vision, now they are grand mal), I wrote this piece of writing called "Brain On Fire" Looking back, it makes so much sense to me why I wrote it now. I was feeling these odd sensations but couldn't properly express what it was. It's an interesting way of looking at it. I just thought I would share with the community, especially people who have a sudden onset of epilepsy in their mid 20's I have also attached a digital drawing I did (about a month ago) after recently recovering from another seizure. Enjoy. - Sara R.
