HI, iam curious if anyone has taken gabapentin along with dilantin. I am 60 yrs.old amd my Dr. is now requesting a cjange to my meds. I would appreciate any info, if anyone takes this combination. I know it sonds odd...but, reading the "side effects" frightens me more than the seizures. please give me your opinion

Hi I am 46 and have been taking Neurontin ( gabapentin) along with dilantin and tegretol now for a long long time, and I feel the gabapentin has caused no unpleasant side effects for me . All tablets can cause side effects ,but not everyone will react the same. Sure it is good to know what side effects gabapentin " MAY " cause , so you can recognize anything unusual you experience taking the tablets, but its not worth worrying yourself about what may happpen. From my experience Neurontin doesnt cause any nasty side effects at all. If you do experience anything unususal ,speak with your doctor. Whilst you are adjusting to taking the new medication you may feel a little tired but your body should adjust. Aussie
