Your Voice, September 2008

I hope everyone has had a relaxing and fun summer. The Community has continued to be a great place for sharing views and ‘giving and getting’ support from each other. In browsing around, I’ve taken the liberty of highlighting a few threads of interest.

What bothers people with epilepsy? Do words worsen stigma for people with seizures or has 'political correctness' gone too far? Two similar threads highlight people’s thoughts on this area. Check these out and add your own voice! If you don't have epilepsy, please add your thoughts too. It's always helpful to hear multiple thoughts on an area such as this.

Are you an artist? Do you like to share your voice or experiences through the arts? It can be a great way to express your views. I know we have many artists on this site and hope they share their work with us. Look at this recently created group and see what you can add!

Epilepsy Talk Radio comes to Epilepsy.com. Living with epilepsy can be very tough at times. While seizures may be part of the problem, mood disorders such as depression can occur and cause many more difficulties. If you missed our recent Epilepsy Talk Radio, you can listen to the archived session on Epilepsy and Its Treatment: Talking about Epilepsy and Suicidality.

I’ve added a thread in the Community for people to write in other topics and speakers they’d like to hear on our Blog Talk Radio. Please add your opinion!

I’d like to welcome all our new members – it’s been great meeting you around the site. To both new and regular users, I hope everyone takes time to enjoy the remaining days of summer, and let us all know how you’re doing!
