#DareTo Understand: Ask the Experts - Epilepsy 101 Coming Soon!

Epilepsy News From: Thursday, October 30, 2014

As we enter National Epilepsy Awareness Month, the Epilepsy Foundation is kicking off an Ask the Expert video series that will be featured on www.epilepsy.com, the Epilepsy Foundation’s You Tube channel, and other social media avenues.

We want to achieve two main goals with these sessions:

  • Help users of epilepsy.com get their questions answered and concerns met by leading experts in epilepsy, and
  • Spread the facts about seizures and epilepsy to people everywhere!

To make this work, we need your help!

The first Ask the Experts video session will cover Epilepsy 101, basic information about epilepsy and seizures. I’ll be moderating this session with experts from our Professional Advisory Board: - Nathan Fountain MD of University of Virginia; Jeffrey Loeb MD, PhD of University of Illinois at Chicago; and Wendy Miller PhD, RN, CCRN of Indiana University.

What to do:

  • By November 10, please email questions you want addressed in the first Ask the Experts video session.
    • Write questions for the panel in the comment box at the bottom of this webpage.
    • Email questions to pshafer@efa.org.
  • Encourage your friends and family to send in questions too.
  • Check back on epilepsy.com or watch for announcements in our newsletter and social media when the Ask the Experts videos are done. Then share the video sessions with your own network to help spread awareness and understanding!

Thank you for your help! We look forward to hearing from one and all!

Best wishes,
