Epilepsy affects people of all ages. While seizures can look and feel different from one person to the next, there are some common ways of diagnosing and treating epilepsy.

However, there are some differences between types of epilepsy that begin in childhood and when seizures begin in adults. Epilepsy also will affect people differently depending on when it begins. This is key to thinking about what type of non-medical help you may need.

Understanding what’s the same and what’s different can help you make sure you’re on the right track.
