About Epilepsy Foundation Northwest

The Epilepsy Foundation Northwest (EFNW) is the principal advocate for the epilepsy community in Oregon, Washington, Alaska with support to neighboring Northwest states.  Nearly 136,000 people are living with epilepsy or seizure related disorders in the northwest. Nearly 136,000 people are living with epilepsy or seizure related disorders in the northwest (66,000 WA – 38,000 OR – 7,000 AK – 10,000 MT – 15,000 ID).

The Epilepsy Foundation Northwest is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and hosts a medically based Professional Advisory Board.  EFNW offices are located in Seattle, Spokane and Portland with partner agency programs in Anchorage, AK and Tri-Cities, WA.

EFNW is a stand-alone affiliate of the national Epilepsy Foundation, and works closely with the national foundation to develop and implement programs and services for people with epilepsy in the northwest.

Funding supports the following uncompensated programs and services provided to people with epilepsy and their families:

Seizure Response Training     (For schools, first responders, employers and more)
Public Education Programs  (Conferences and seminars about epilepsy)
Teen, Adult, Parent Support Groups (Support groups for people and families)
Camp Discovery (The annual youth summer camp)
H.O.P.E. Volunteer Program   (Volunteer advocacy, support and community training)
Y.E.A.! Program  (Youth Epilepsy Advocates program for teens)
Veteran’s Epilepsy Awareness (Programs for VA Epilepsy Centers of Excellence)
Speak Up Speak Out Program  (Youth, adults, families speak about epilepsy)
Emergency Medication Assistance (For the uninsured, homeless and needy)
Employment Assistance Programs (Working to support employment transition)
