About Epilepsy Foundation Northern California

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California (EFNC) is a resource and advocate for the more than 140,000 people living with epilepsy in the 45 California counties from Fresno to Oregon.  Support is provided free of charge to patients, families and caregivers.

EFNC offers free workshops on epilepsy, seizure recognition and first aid, to teachers, companies, service clubs and other groups.  We provide an information phone line, support groups and social gatherings such as Studio E, an art therapy program.  EFNC organizes Living with Epilepsy – a one day educational workshop that brings together patients with the foremost physicians and experts in epilepsy and seizure treatment and research.  EFNC offers the only summer camp in California for children with epilepsy -- providing appropriate medical supervision and ensuring that no child is turned away due to inability to pay.

EFNC sponsors a Young Adult Leadership Council – volunteers between the ages of 20- and 30- years-old who mentor younger patients through education, support and friendship.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California is supported by generous donations, grants, events and a partnership with Savers stores in Vacaville, Pleasanton and Berkeley.  We are volunteers, professionals, family members and patients working to educate the public, support patients and end the stigma of epilepsy.
