The Epilepsy Foundation Washington (EFWA) is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator to become the newest member of our team. This position will play an integral part in working with patients and families both new and experienced in living with epilepsy. The Program Coordinator will serve as the front-line person in responding to all inquiries made to the organization and will manage and oversee all volunteers. In addition, the Program Coordinator will support the Program Director in the planning and execution of all Epilepsy Foundation Washington programs including (but not limited to) Camp Discovery and Kids Crew.


  • Recruit volunteers as necessary to maintain required volunteer levels
  • Builds friendly, professional relationships with volunteers and other EFWA constituents
  • Collects feedback from volunteers and shares information with the Program Director to improve the overall volunteer experience
  • Participates in recognition activities
  • Responds to general inquires (via phone or email) around EFWA programs and services
  • Provides input for the EFWA quarterly newsletter
  • Some administrative work or support to other team members as needed

Required Skills

  • Over one year of administrative or program support experience
  • Able to plan, prioritize, and complete assignments with minimum supervision
  • Must be detail oriented, motivated, proactive and able to meet deadlines
  • Exercises initiative and independent judgment in performing duties; applies judgment to resolving problems
  • High comfort level with supporting people with disabilities who may occasionally be in crisis
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new applications and tools such as CampDoc and Volunteer Hub

Additional Information

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college preferred
  • Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required
  • This is a remote (work from home) position with occasional travel to events and meetings
  • Ability to maintain a home office and appropriate working environment
