Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles
Established in 1957, the Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles (EFLA) is 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to serving people affected by epilepsy in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
The Epilepsy Foundation Los Angeles shares the nationwide mission -- to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. We fulfill our mission locally by leading the fight to End Epilepsy® by focusing on care, advocacy, research and education. Through these areas of focus, EFLA offers a range of services and programs to help, support, advocate for, and empower, those who are affected by epilepsy and their caregivers. EFGLA supports research to accelerate cures for the epilepsies and the training, and work, of new pediatric epilepsy specialists; seeks to educate the general public to better understand epilepsy/seizure disorders; and mobilizes the community in the fight to End Epilepsy®.

Programs & Resources
Through our website, phone and email/mail, we offer bilingual information, referral and resources to individuals and families affected by epilepsy in order to inform, support and empower in the fight against epilepsy and in pursuit of a better quality of life.
Support Groups meet periodically for information updates and benefit from two-way sharing in an understanding, empathetic group setting. Each group meeting may have a different topic or focus but, over a period of time, participants will benefit from the education, socializing, self-help, and idea-sharing that occurs. Please join a Group if you desire to learn more and/or connect with others.
Seizure Recognition and First Aid Training
We offer schools, employers, agencies and other community organizations trainings on seizure recognition and first aid.
Throughout the year we offer activities and outings for adults with epilepsy and their guests to make and renew friendships, learn something new, and have fun together. Events vary depending on interest and funding.
