Hi Inaclassbymylonesome, I went through the three day EEG a few years ago at a hospital in Ohio. I have partial complex seizures and medications were not helping. My Dr. wanted me to do that same thing and, as you are, I was scared shitless too because I did have grand mal seizures a few times before. I understand how you feel but after those 3 days, I was glad I did it becaue it pin pointed exactly where the seizures were coming from and what exactly brought them on. I had those stupid electrodes stuck to my head, horrible hospital food, all kinds of different doctors, nurses, med students and pharmacists in my room and a camera pointed at me at all times. It wasn't fun but I made it through it. I also had to share a room with another woman (with a curtin in between our beds) and I found a really great friend after those three days. It sounds like your mom and friend must really support you and I am sure they will be there to keep you company and make a bad experience turn into a good one...eventually. As much as it sucked to be there, it was worth it.

THANK YOU, THAT REALLY MEANT ALOT. ITS NOTHING LIKE BEING ABLE TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND THEY KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL OR HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE. YEAH IN THE BACK OF MY MIND, I KNOW THIS WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR ME, BUT ITS STILL SCARY TO THINK ABOUT  I KEEP TELLING MYSELF ITS THE DEVIL TRYING TO GAIN CONTROL AND MAKE ME BACK OUT, BUT I WON'T GIVE HIM THE SATISFACTION

I was just in there for that. It is nerve racking. But just remember, you are in bed or a chair, or you can just stay in bed and you will be safe. They will be watching you the whole time. I want to wish you the best take care Lisa http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/
