Rapid Heart Beat & Epilepsy

Sat, 07/01/2017 - 04:11
Hello Everyone, I'm trying to help my mom. She's been having seizures for about 5 years now. We went through so many neurologists and she's tried different meds from dilantin to Keppra and A few more. BUT it's so weird, she'll be bad for like a few days then for like a month or two she'll be OK. No seizure. On a day when she's feeling bad, she wakes up knowing that her Aura is active and that she's prone to getting a seizure. Her heart beat just starts racing and her speech is off. We've tried heart meds and anything you think of to keep her calm and have heart to stop racing. We're trying to get her off Keppra because that gave a side affect of her hands shaking through out the day. We did EVERYTHING nonconventional too. Like Acupuncture(which wasn't bad but would just help her temporarily and it would come right back) herbs, you name it, we've done it. Is ANYONE experiencing anything similar? *Heart beating rapidly through out the day? And just feeling vulnerable like you're about to have a seizure, and that bringing on some type of anxiety. PLEASE HELP Thank you.

I don't know if my comment

I don't know if my comment can help you but I'll put it in any how. I'll be praying for you both. May I suggest talking to your doctor about a med called Lamotrging. I'm also taking VIMPACT with that, and I have the most control I've ever had. We are trying to wing off the vimpact. If that dose not work, I went a whole year without arua or seizures taking a martial arts class. It was not so much what I learned, the over 100 jumping jack, stretching, working my body at least 5 days a week.  You have heard it before," use it or lose it". Exercise make sense. As soon as I stopped everything came back with in a week. Good luck, life with out seizures can be amazing, always try new things don't let it win.
