Pregnant on Keppra and Vimpat

Sat, 05/05/2018 - 22:38
Hi ladies! I just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant! I had two early miscarriages previously (2 months and 4 months ago). I am on 3,000 mg of Keppra daily and 100 mg of Vimpat daily. Vimpat got added 2 months ago after I had my first and only tonic clonic seizure. Otherwise, I have complex partial seizures. I know Keppra is pretty safe. But Vimpat doesn't have much info. Has anyone had successful pregnancies on these medications?? Please share your stories!!!

Almost exactly my pregnancy

Almost exactly my pregnancy but I was on higher doses (: My little boy is a VERY active and HEALTHY 2 year old. I was a high risk pregnancy and thusly saw a perinatologist to keep track of my baby's growth, BUT I was taking 4000mg of Keppra and 250mg of Vimpat. Maybe see if your OB will team up with a perinatologist if there's on in your area. I too am partial complex, and have breakthrough TCs. I do know that as I got more and more pregnant my TCs became more prevalent and random. They ended up inducing me almost a month early but my little boy is happy and healthy! Hopefully this eases your mind a little bit.
