Need friends with same, who understand and live with non convulsive epilepsy!

My name is Tracey and I am 54 years old. I have had epilepsy all my life, but was not diagnosed until age 35 when I had 3 grand-mal seizures. Before then, and still to this day, I have NON CONVULSIVE epilepsy. They are seizures, but I find it very hard to talk to anyone who understands (besides my doctors) simply because most people don't believe something they cannot SEE.

Hi.  what what type of seizures do you have now?  are they grand mal or partial?

Complex-partial epileptic

Complex-partial epileptic seizures is my diagnosis.  (grand mal when I was pregnant)

I just joined the group today

I just joined the group today. We have eerily similar situations. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 43 but had seizures all my life. Didn't know what they were or how to even describe them. One weekend, I was visiting my parents and had 2 grand mal-seizures. That was the beginning of my epilepsy discovery period. It's been 11 years and thanks to an amazing doctor and medicine, I have been fairly seizure free. I don't usually talk about it because the impact it had on my life has so diminished. However, those first 43 years...not good times. You are correct, most people don't believe/understand what they don't know/see. Shame on them.

I do not have the same kind,

I do not have the same kind, but want to say that I believe you and I’d totally be willing to be your friend! I’m new to all this myself and have so much to learn.

Hi Tracey, my name is Traci

Hi Tracey, my name is Traci as well. I have had seizures since. I was 10 years old and I am 44 now. I make a grunting sound when mine start and then I will walk around or take off running. I don't ever remember what I did when I come out of them. It's like I just lost a few minutes of my day. If you didn't know I have epilepsy you would just think I am acting weird. Quite embarrassing! I totally understand what you are saying. If you ever need someone to talk to I am here for you.
