Medications You've Taken While Pregnant

Tue, 05/01/2018 - 10:48
Hey everyone! I am diagnosed with Partial Complex Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I also suffer from pretty severe anxiety & depression. I was taking Zoloft with my Keppra and Vimpat but after having my son my threshold for my seizures became more sensitive it seems and my doctor decided to wean me off my Zoloft. While it's helped my epilepsy, I'm not suffering because of my anxiety/depression. The only solution he has to this is switching my meds to an anticonvulsant that covers all of them. The only issue is most of them are NOT safe to be on while pregnant ( which my fiancé and I are hoping to have happen sometime this year (: yay for baby number 2. ) So what medications has everybody been on while pregnant/breastfeeding? Has anything helped with depression/anxiety also?

Im also on Venlafaxine for anxiety however may need to change this due to it not being the safest to get pregnant on. Like I said, sorry for not being able to help, your post just attracted me and wanted to pop by :-)

It's okay! (: Saying hi makes me feel not alone! Lots of sticky baby dust for you!!! I want another asap but we're in the middle of trying to remodel part of our house so I've been told sometime this year and that's it lol. I might have to look into Lamotrogine just because anything is better than nothing right now.

I had epilepsy since I was 3 years old I am turning 56 in December.I had my right temporal lobe and hippocampus taken out in 1996.i 1996 I had two brain surgeries.  The first brain surgery was to find where the seizures were and the second on was to remove my right temporal  lobe and my hippocampus..I was taking my epilepsy medications when I was pregnant .  The anti medications won't harm the baby.  My seizures had gotten out of control when I had gotten pregnant.I only option was to get the brain surgeries done because there wasn't was working to control my seizures.
