Complex Partial Seizures

I never had seizures until I was 34. I'm 38 now. Not sure why until this late in life that I was diagnosed? The Dr. said mine are caused by lack of sleep and stress. I wear a cpap machine, which helps a lot. I am now on a medicine regimen that really seems to work for me and by doing exercise I feel really good. But when I really get stressed, I will have a "starring spell". My hands will draw and I bite the inside of my mouth like a chewing motion. They only last a few seconds. Does anyone else out there experience this? Thanks!!

Lack of sleep an stress are triggers for many people with epilepsy. So get sleep. I do know that your cpap is used to help with your sleep and also breathing with many people. Now you posted you are no medicines and taking them and they help. When was the last time you saw your neurologist?? How often do you take your meds? DO all your doctors know all the meds you take?  If your meds haven't changed any in the last 4 years then they may need to change your dosage. Medications taken for one thing can counter meds for another thing. Over the counter meds can counter meds for epilepsy and other things too. Call your Dr and discuss these issues and ask about dosage changes. They can be done in phone calls with a visit to be done 2-3 months later to see if the adjustment has helped...

I see my neuro every 6 months.  She did just change one of my meds and it has totally changed my mood for the better!  The only thing over the counter I take are vitamins.  I was just wondering if anyone else started these later in life and what triggered theirs?  Mine started after I had my last child.  Thank you for your reply!!
