Absence Seizures

Wed, 10/20/2010 - 19:05
Okay, so supposebly I have Absent seizures.... But I have another appointment on the 26th, because I am about to be able to drive soon.  So, my seizures have gotten to where I continue to do physical activity, and sometimes I lose my bladder control.  I am un-responsive when I have them and they last 5- 15 seconds.  On a good day, I USUALLY have about 15 a day.  On a bad day 30 or more.  So, I was wondering what I should tell my doctor (i.e.  medication I should take, or just any adivce.) Thank you.

I think it would be a good idea to track your seizures: how you feel before (any auras or triggers?)...during...and after.  Plus the duration of each seizure.

I know this will keep you real busy, since you have so many seizures in a day, but I think it's important that your doc get a better idea of what's going on with you so that together, you can work out a plan.  (And it should NOT include driving.  Sorry.)

I hope this helps.  Best of luck.     Phylis Feiner Johnson   www.epilepsytalk.com
