surgery complications

Wed, 09/16/2015 - 10:53

Has anyone ever had surgery complications?  I'm in the waiting process now...I had depth electrodes put in my head in July and they had complications (angiogram, and bleeding around my brain), now the 2nd part of my surgery, the part where they actually go in and remove the section of my brain where the seizures are coming from has been put on hold for a bit...they want me to heal before they can do that surgery...they ordered another MRI and another neuro-psych test...I have all my tests and MD appts scheduled, and I'm really hoping to have the 2nd surgery in November....I really hope that when all of this is done it works out and I become seizure free.  On top of my neurological issues, I've been having issues with my crohns, which just adds to my stress.  I just don't feel well overall, I worry about having a seizure, I have to rely on others to get me to appts and places......not being able to drive has been awful.....I hope I can drive again once I'm seizure free for 6 or more months.  If anyone has ever had complications like this please give me your feedback, let me know how things ended up working out in the end (good, bad, are you seizure free, etc).

Hello Hope.  I haven't had surgery yet but from what I read it depends on the surgery.  My understanding is that Temporal Lobe resection is the most common and therefore less risky. Is that what you are having? I go to the Neurosurgeon on Oct. 7th and will let you know when I do have surgery.
