BETH

I was told this week that I have now been seizure free for one year and I can drive once again!..I am ecstatic!..I had the RNS implant and it has been working with perfection for me. I had originally had seizures from the left side and had temporal lobe surgery and was ok for over one year. Then they started from the right. I could not have the same surgery because that's where my speech and memory are. I tried meds and cannabis and nothing helped..The RNS came up and I wanted to go for it and it is perfect!..I do my own brain scan every night and send it on a laptop right to the Doctors. Anytime a seizure even tries to start the RNS generator stops it instantly befor it can begin. My scan that I do takes less than 3 minutes. It's so easy to do. I feel so happy now I can't believe it!..No more relying on friends and neighbors to go where I need to go!!

Doctors are wanting me to do the RNS as well was gonna go the 5th to talk about but the storm in Houston stopped that. A few Questions for someone that has it were you able to get off of maybe just a few meds. ? I can do surgery if I want but is going to affect my memory, the amount of meds. I take will also effect my memory as well plus my seizures have not stopped. I go to hospital were there is several doctors that look at your case and all give there opinion on your case. My memory if do surgery gone, keep taking all theses pills will be gone over time, cannabis not legal yet but 2018 supposed to be able to get or they are growing it at LSU now. My other question would be wonder how hard gonna be to find job with RNS implant ? but cannabis going to be just as hard. Only other thing how long did it take them to get you seizure free?

Sounds exciting.  I'm strongly being considered for RNS treatment.  At one clinic they said they could not implant leads into an area where I had previously had brain surgery, at another clinic the doctor said previous surgery shouldn't be a problem.  Did doctors implant the leads into the right side only, or do you also have leads implanted into the left temporal lobe where they previously did the surgery?
