My make friend is in his early 40's with history if seizure. Takes depAkote and says he hasn't had an episode of seizure since 2012. He stopped the depAkote apruptly for 3 months then resumed taking them . He has been back on his anti seizure medicine for 2 months now but recently started feeling nervous and paranoid and for the past few days very confused and tired Has anyone experienced this?

I have never taken that

I have never taken that specific medicine but immediately after starting to take Topomax I had that happen. Also be aware that some partial seizures mimic the symptoms of a panic attack. In my case, these seizure symptoms also started after taking Topomax and it was very hard to tell the difference but eventually I could (in my case I could only tell they weren't panic attacks because my heart rate never elevated). Also be warned that a lot of neurologists immediately try and put u on antipsychotic drugs with these symptoms. I refused because I never had any issues in 45 years until after I began to have seizures. I finally found an Epileptologist (a neurologist specializing in Epilepsy) and that has made all the difference in my care.
