Seizures and natural treatment

Fri, 08/17/2018 - 15:57
Hello everyone, About 7 years ago I had 3 epileptic shocks, after EEG test, magnetic resonance, doctors said that the brain function is normal. The shock started with a feeling in my right hand as an electric shock, going through my arm until reaching the neck and resulted with unconscious. I started to use Tegretol 200 mg, twice per day. After 3 years of using everything was normal, then I skipped the therapy and use alcohol for few days in a row, then I had an epileptic shock again. After this I am using the medicine, until 2 months ago I was feeling good. Sometimes I am consuming alcohol and skip the therapy, but was fine, but not for few days in row. Few of the shocks happened during а masturbation (self-satisfaction). In last 2 months sometimes I have a feeling in my hand like the epileptic shock is "preparing". So I am wondering what can happen, and also I am looking for a natural treatment. This is my diagnose: G40.20 Symptomatic epilepsy associated with localization (focal) (partial) and epileptic syndromes with complex partial seizures without the mention of resistant epilepsy. Can you please share your opinion and your advice? Many thanks in advance. Viktor.

epilepsy associated with localization (focal) (partial) and epileptic syndromes with complex partial seizures without the mention of resistant epilepsy.  <<<< the main thing that I see here is localization and Focal. Focal seizures start in one area of the brain. Your shock as you call it start in your right hand. Meaning in your brain they start in the left side of your brain that controls your right hand. Mind do to. Mine start as a numb feeling. If it stays localized it lasts a few seconds now. But if it generalizes the seizures can go into partial seizures (any of the partial seizures) further generalization can take it into a generalized tonic clonic. Treatment is started by finding the right medication or combination of medications and the right dosages for each.  seizures without the mention of resistant epilepsy.<<< Meaning you can treat your seizures with medications since they are nor resistant to medications. With some people their seizures will not be treated with medications. For me I just have to take the highest dose allowed by the maker. My advice it to take your medications as prescribed daily. You need to talk to your neurologist since your therapeutic levels seem to be low. The therapeutic levels in your body should be high enough to stop any break through seizures if a dose is taken late or a dose is missed. Drinking should be limited to ONE drink every 4 hours. Beer is a little different because of the alcoholic content. Many neurologists will tell you NO ALCOHOL at all. I have heard it both ways and if I drink I limit mine and nurse the drink or beer. At times I even got near beer. It tastes  like beer but without the alcohol.I hope this helpsJoe

Thanks a lot.
