Now at 38 from a Teenager.

Back then it bothered me. I was a teen. Now, today it still does because I am afraid to talk to any woman. Will she freak out when I tell her about my side effect. She'll be a shame about me. I've only had two simple relationships in my life. Been single for quite awhile now. Never been married, never had children too. I am very scared to talk to woman. Today in 2000's women what a man who has money, a car, and all that b.s. Don't want to make any one mad. Me, I am shy, generous, wacky, and honest guy.

I've always tried to have a "glass half full" way of dealing with things. Having some kind of condtion that requires a lot of attention is a sure way to quickly find out who's really by your side. Sadly it was family who gave up and turned their backs first. They didn't even take the time to research or educate themselves about Epilepsy and seizures. No one ever offered to come to any Neurologist appointments to better understand things. Just about everyone gave up very quickly. You soon realize that not everyone loves the same, cares the same, or handle situations the way you would. You realize how lucky you are to have even just ONE person that's there for you until the end.  I'd much rather have one or two trustworthy and dependable friends in my life instead of several that may or may not be there when crap really hits the fan. I can only speak for myself but I wouldn't want to be with someone who wouldn't want me simply because of a condition I have no control over. One of my favorite sayings is "if they can't handle you at your worst, they don't deserve you at your best".  Best of luck to you!

What medication are you on? Read the physical insert that comes with the prescription or download the PDF, pay attention to the clinical trials.  What is your side effect?  Thanks!FWIW:  first seizure when I was 13.  DX: complex partial seizures of the temporal lobe, caused by poly-microgyria of both the left and right temporal lobes.  After 31 years of tests and medications, I have been seizure free for about 5 years, take Lamictal ER,300 mg in AM/300mg in PM.
