EPILEPTOGENIC FOCUS: "The epileptogenic focus is the area where seizures come from."They are seizures. Which can be controlled with medications. The medications Keppra was designed to control siezures and I have been taking it for years. It is the best seizure medication I have ever used in the 50+ years I have had epilepsy.Seizures are a chain reactions cause by an electrical impulse hitting wrong in your brain. Why would you say your career may be over???Seizure medications are created to keep electrical impulses form hitting wrong. If you were diagnosed with a heart condition and needed to take blood pressure medications would your career be over?  Medications created to keep your blood pressure at levels your doctors want do basically the same thing as seizure meds do. They keep the heart beating at certain rates. The heart beats by electrical impulses hitting it at certain periods of time to maintain the rate wanted. You need to relax and research this site. Learn about the different types of seizures you MAY have. Ask your neurologist about the different seizures you MIGHT have. Understand that a person can have ONE tonic clonic (grand mal) seizure and not have another but still have partial seizures, or absence seizures. It all depends on the seizures and how one accepts the fact the may have one. What one does is up to them and their acceptance. I have only had focal seizures which last a few seconds for the last 15 years. I went years without seizures and at times months. I haven't had any convulsive seizures since 1970's. I worked in many different fields of work. I was part owner of a business. I retired a few years ago. I hope this helps Joe
