My story hopefully it helps

Hi all I'm 39 yr old male. My first seizure occurred when I was 10. It was a hot day. Came home had a seizure. Went to the hospital they figured it was from the heat. It happened 3 more times. Finally diagnosed with epilepsy. I was on epival and school was hard. My folks first time parents and immigrants had no idea about this condition but what first time parents. There was nothing in the family that would suggest it was hereditary. University was hard but got my degree. As a got older and learned about this condition and epileptic drugs it's designed to slow you down ie effecting cognitive functioning and memory. I had 3 more seizures 2006...2011 and 2012. I've been seizure free I am on lamictal 200mg 2x per day. You do get that jerk motion. Overall I'm good. I've been studying I have my Project Management designation and studied for 3 more certification in cyber secuirty from recognized body. Exam was hard but paased. No seizures for 18 yrs between 1990 to 2006 (16 yrs) and 2012 to now (6 yrs). I drive yes no issue there are difficulties primarily cognition and memory but I manage with alternative treatment. I take vitamin C, B, D magnesium (brain health), multi vitamin and M1ND (brain health) and Chinese herbs....I see my neurologist every 6 months...he's like "any issue" I respond nope just headaches related to heat. He's like "get out you're wasting my time" he's joking but the meaning is you're in excellent health. My session is 5 min...compared to his other patitents who have more severe cases. I consider myself lucky as it hasn't impacted my life in a major way. Just challenges that's all. I sympathize for those that have more cases.
