My seizures

Wed, 01/03/2018 - 00:35
I first started having seizures after I was electrocuted in '11. I was at my sister's baby shower and got electrocuted due to exposed wiring. I lost my ability to walk and speak for months but gradually those abilities came back. though whenever I get stressed, too upset, exposed to flashing lights or certain bright lights, I get too emotional etc. I have a seizure. this, of course, caused a lot of issues, especially with me trying to become a vet tech. I almost didnt graduate because of this but i did though now i dont think i can continue down that career path anymore. After the initial electrocution, i would have seizures almost regularly until they slowed. i hated having to go to the hospital because of them because they would treat me as if i was on some sort of drug or something and i never took drugs a day in my life and i was never comfortable being left alone with any of the nurses because they were really mean and rude. I honestly dont know what kind of siezures these are. But i can tell when i am about to have one. My heart starts to race and i get really shaky and lose the strength in my legs and talking becomes hard until i am unable to speak and then i would begin to seize. The scary thing about them is that i am completely aware of my surroundings and can hear people but i cant respond to them. its like i get stuck in my own body. i met up with a neurologist(i think it may have been a neuropsych) and was told that they were pseudo seizures. Another had no clue what they were. So im left confused. My last episode, was father's day of '16. was at my cousin's babyshower(at this point im starting to think baby showers are bad luck lol) they had strob lights for when the night came and of course that triggered a siezure. This time it was the worst one i had ever had. I was in and out of consiousness and my family said that i had at least four back to back. As a result, i lost my ability to walk for months. I lost my ability to speak but it lasted way much longer. Almost 2yrs to be exact. I just recently started talking. I lost everything. I have been to many doctors some who thought that i was mere putting on a show and other who blatantly told me that they didnt know what the problem was and didnt know how to help me. So my journey has definitely been a trial
