had 1 seizure 3 years ago, and abnormal eegs since then

hi! i thought i'd check this website out because i'm curious to see if anyone's ever had a similar experience. i had a grand mal seizure 3 years ago in my sleep. got taken to the hospital. they did a CT scan, mri, and eeg. everything was normal except eeg. i've been on meds since then and my eegs keep coming back abnormal, even though i'm not have seizures! i'm just confused. like sometimes i zone out, have trouble focusing and remembering things. could this be related to whatever is going on inside my head? has anyone had a similar experience? i feel like im taking meds for no reason

not all seizures are grand

not all seizures are grand mals (tonic clonics). if you have generalized seizures or complex partials, you would not recall them. my child’s seizures can look like zoning out, or fumbling something or various complaints about feeling strange in different places. many, if not most, epilepsies do not run in families so it is very common to hear it doesn’t run in someone’s family.
