Full body temporary paralysis before grand mal seizure

A few days ago I was watching TV and I reached down to the floor to pick up the TV remote and I couldn’t move. I was unable to move for around 10 minutes before I had a grand mal seizure. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I’ve had many grand mal seizures but have never experienced this before and wondered if it’s common/happens to other people?
