Embrace 2 bracelet

Tue, 12/25/2018 - 17:49
I was thinking about getting the Embrace 2 bracelet. Got a prescription from my Neurologist and it stated that I have localization related focal epilepsy. Not sure if the bracelet will work for this kind of seizures. Hate to buy it if it doesn't work. Also did a search on this type of epilepsy and couldn't understand what it meant.

localization related epilepsy

localization related epilepsy means the seizures begin in one area of the brain. The more common term is focal epilepsy. The older term for this is partial seizures. The area of brain where seizures start and where they spread influence what happens during the seizure. The Embrace watch may detect seizures with only certain features. For example seizures with repeated movements like in a tonic clonic seizure or certain other changes. Make sure to talk with the prescribing provider to see which parts of your seizures it may detect. Hope this helps!
