Does low iron cause seizures?

Wed, 01/31/2018 - 18:53
I had 2 seizures in 2017, it transpires i had very low iron, two doses of intravenous iron and i feel so much better, but I've lost my driving license. Do I have to wait the 12 months, no doctors will write a letter to DVLA to confirm this is most likely what caused the seizures. Has anyone any info on this? Its been confirmed that I don't have epilepsy, all my results clear

there is no test that always

there is no test that always catches epilepsy accurately 100% of the time so there is no testing that can prove you don’t have epilepsy. in fact, people with epilepsy can have clear imaging and clear EEGs. it’s just that eventually evidence builds up (can take years for some people).the low iron isn’t one of the epilepsy mimics/imitators I’ve read are looked for. clearly something is off. low iron is more common in women but they should have identified a cause if you needed that type of intervention. maybe there’s a connection that explains more.
