A doctoral student with epilepsy

Sat, 06/23/2018 - 03:21
Hello, it is likely not to find publications on this topic, we can usually see experiences of children or adolescents with epilepsy who are studying, but what do you think about my testimony about a doctoral student who suffers from epilepsy from 6 years to date. When I was 9 months old I suffered a stroke. Then from 5 years old I began with severe migraine problems, until at age 6 I had my first seizure, my family did not know how to handle the problem, so I got my degree in elementary, middle and high school without a treatment, the truth It was an unpleasant experience, but my goal was to study despite bad episodes and discrimination, marginalization and bullying, but then, how did I do to finish those studies? In the first place, my dad only warned the teachers about the problem, but they were not able to help me, my classmates and my teachers never believed in me, nor in my ability to finish my studies, despite all this, from the elementary till the high school, I got very good grades, in summary everything was based on perseverance and especially believing in myself, although it was not correct to finish those degrees without medical treatment or with the help of a neurologist. When I was in the bachelor's degree, I still did not have medical treatment, so in the first semester I had the need to rest a year, mainly because my specialty was in animal science, it was a very complicated challenge, especially because I had to take care of farm animals and establish sowing of forages. Until then I received specialized care due to medical insurance, but the treatment was not adequate because the neurologist prescribed tranquillizers, these medications decreased my alertness, although my qualifications were never affected, so I graduated with a bachelor's degree and entered to my studies of masters in biotechnology, but the seizures followed and it was the first time that I lived outside my house, even with tranquilizers, I was the first graduate student who was titled as a master in biotechnology, now I am studying my doctorate In the main research center of my country, after a year in the doctorate and with the salary I receive, I have been consulting a neurologist who has adjusted my treatment by offering first-generation medications. In fact, the doctorate program is not easy , it is cellular and molecular physiology, I believe that God has helped me because after so many convulsions From 7 to 31 years old, it is not easy, now my neurologist is surprised because my memory, my reflexes and my learning ability is quite good, with this I do not mean that the success of my studies is due to the foults to treatment and much less treatment to tranquilizers, I simply did not have financial resources and my parents could not help either, now I am on this page, if you do not see my formula to overcome the disease, but if you suffer from crisis, seizures or epilepsy, if you are a student or If you have just read my publication and want help, with pleasure, I am here to serve you and share something that may be useful to you, the reason why I did not post the strategy is due to the size of message that will be generated, anyway Im at your orders.

Hi there Ismael,Your story is profoundly interesting.I'd love to learn more about experience.Nineteen years ago I suffered a subdural haemorrhage and went into a coma for several days. Since th en and in these two decades I've become a professor in applied neuroscience. Please see ProfessorKennedy.comFor the next two decades I've been symptom free... until last week.I'm a week away from publishing a book about this experience and would love to hear your thoughts on your coping strategy.ThanksJustinJustinJamesKennedy@Gmail.com
