What is the recovery like after the surgery? I heard it’s bad headache pain afterwards, which I would understand.

I honestly thought the headache would be a lot worst after I had my three stage craniotomy. As long as you trust your docs & nurses (which you presumably do or else you wouldn't be considering it) than trust in yourself to be able to do it.  No one wants you in pain so it's managed properly.  I must confess that NO ONE rarely has a three-stage craniotomy as most have only one or two stages. I had three surgeries a week every week- June 2,9,13. I hope you realize that the post op pain that I was always so afraid of, will be the least of your problems.

Hello Everyone,  I had surgery 2 weeks ago and I am still suffering from severe headaches.  The doctor gave me pain medication but it doesn't help much plus I don't like taking medication for pain.  I know I should so that I can rest better.  I have been trying to take extra strength Tylenol instead because I am afraid of stronger pain medication.  I have spoken to someone who had surgery 3 years ago and has been seizure free since her surgery.  She has been great moral support for me.  The doctor has instructed my family that I need complete alone time because I am regaining my independence.  I don't think they hear or understand what he is trying to say.  I feel that I am on the road to a complete recovery and have total confidence in both my Neurologist and Neurosurgeon.  I am hoping and praying that this surgery was a success!
